Home Introduction Events How to Join Contacts & Links

A Singing Day open to everybody, hosted by Heathfield Choral Society, with two aims:

  • To improve individual singing capabilities (with a coaching session given by Mary Farmer ARCM)
  • To rehearse in depth the Faure Requiem

An hour or so's voice coaching, concentrating on "Looking after your Voice", followed by an in-depth rehearsal of the Faure Requiem, with morning and afternoon breaks for tea & light refreshments, and a break for lunch (all provided). At about 4pm a "run-through" of the Requiem (friends welcome as an audience!). For more information and to book your place please email us or telephone 01435 863414.

Date: Saturday 16th March 2002

Time: 10am to 5pm

Place: Community Centre, Sheepsetting Lane, Heathfield

What to bring: A vocal score of the Faure Requiem. The conductor's copy is the "1893" version (specifically the Oxford University Press edition edited by John Rutter, ISBN 0-19-336103-5, available to buy from the excellent  www.oup.co.uk/music) but if you have a different version, please be prepared to mark up letters & bar numbers, and the minor note & word differences! (If you don't have a score, let us know - we have a few spare copies...)

Cost: £3 (Members) or £8 (non-Members) which pays for:

  • The use of the hall
  • Refreshments
  • Lunch
  • The services of the singing teacher, conductor and accompanist

Excellent value, due in no small part to financial support from the Heathfield and Waldron Community Association. For more information please contact us or telephone 01435 863414.
